UAE Dubai Health Authority launches digital licenses on blockchain

As part of paperless blockchain strategy UAE Dubai Health Authority goes digital with license

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has replaced printed healthcare professionals’ license cards  with digitalized e-Licenses for healthcare professionals as part of the authority’s continuous efforts to implement Dubai’s Paperless Strategy by utilizing the latest technology to achieve customer happiness.

Dr Hisham Al Hammadi, Director of Health Licensing at DHA said that replacing printed cards with digital ones will reduce time to obtain the license from five days to getting it immediately. It also helps reduce possibility of loss or damage and reduces cost and waste.

He added that verifying the details of the e-License can be done through the free online verification service,  available on the Sheryan licensing system, by entering the license barcode and pin number, or by checking the professional’s details through Dubai Medical Registry. In early 2019, DHA launched blockchain Sheryan Solution built on Hyperledger Fabric blockchain platform to provide licenses digitally for healthcare professionals.

Al Hammadi stressed that the DHA strives to continue on providing customers with services that exceeds their expectations and achieves their satisfaction.

DHA has sought to digitize and implement blockchain on many levels and planned to be part of the Blockchain payment and reconciliation settlement system that was led by Smart Dubai
